In many locations, Family Services provides assistance with pre-marital counseling, adoption or single parenting, with a bishop's referral. Family Services can also refer you to resources in the community.
Making the Decision
Choosing to marry, single parent, or place your child with adoptive parents may be one of the more important decisions you will make in your life and the life of your child.
When making important decisions like these, gather as much information as you can, ponder its significance, and prayerfully take it to the Lord.
Parents, extended family, friends, and professional counselors can be excellent sources of information and support as you go through this process.
Counsel with Your Bishop
You are also encouraged to counsel with your bishop. He can provide advice and guidance to you as you make important decisions that will affect not only your own well-being, but also that of your child.
Depending upon your circumstances and the resources in your area, your bishop may identify others who can also help you through this experience.
There is Hope
If you are feeling overwhelmed, one of the most important things for you to know is that you and your unborn child are both Heavenly Father’s children.
He loves you both and will help you make the best decision for you and your baby.
